Our Client, one of leading Banks in the GCC is currently looking to recruit an Analyst for Centralized Credit Risk, who will be responsible for reviewing credit facility proposals from international Corporate and Retail customers.
Reporting directly to the Head of Centralized Credit Risk, the jobholder will assess the credit exposure and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
Position is based in Doha, Qatar
Key responsibilities:
- Perform credit assessments, in line with established credit risk policies and procedures, Central Bank guidelines and Basel regulations
- Coordinate with business units Relationship Managers for the timely receipt of customer documents and other information required to evaluate the credit worthiness of the borrowers.
- Assist in the assessments on credit proposals by preparing a report which analyzes the various credit risk facets including requested facility and guarantees provided, client management and background, industry analysis, country analysis, external agency credit rating (if applicable), financial and cash flow analysis.
- Support the Head of Centralized Credit in preparing a recommendation to extend, decline, or request further structuring/ guarantees/ collaterals to the deal to minimize credit risk
- Perform activities within the assigned Credit Risk Strategy that reflects the Bank tolerance for risk and the level of profitability the Bank expects to achieve for incurring various credit risks.
- Coordinate activities with business units to ensure the timely processing of customer credit requests
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics or related subject.
- Minimum 4 years experience in a major banking institution, in a credit risk function.
- The applicant should have strong quantitative modelling and analytical skills
- The applicant should have excellent oral and written communication skills in English (mandatory) and Arabic (optional)
