PROCESS DESIGN SPECIALIST – UAE, RUSSIAN SPEAKERS ONLY My client, a leading global EPC Engineering company, is currently looking for a Process Design Specialist with experience in Russian design institutes. Responsibilities and duties
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to Discipline Head in carrying out detailed engineering/proposal work for large sized projects.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to Discipline lead engineer and project/proposal team members.
  • Identify problem areas in proposal/contracts/projects, and propose techno-commercially viable solutions. Review basic documents including design basis, simulations, PFD’s, P&ID’s and other critical calculations. Propose technical recommendations and solutions on specific problems. Perform technical audits periodically.
  • Ensure the necessary level of engineering activities.
  • Check and guide the discipline on complex design issues, ensures design integrity and advises HOD on technical upgrading and implementation.
  • Provide advice and review key process deliverables for projects, including Process Design Basis, Block Flow Diagrams (BFD’s), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), Utility Flow Diagrams (UFD’s), Simulation Report & Heat and Material Balance, Process Safety Diagrams, Pressure and Temperature Diagrams (PTD’s), Equipment List and Relief and Depressurization Report.
  • Evaluate technical quality issues and indentify technical improvement, quality assurance of deliverables and implementing cost benefit improvements for the discipline, including identification of employee training needs.
  • Check and guide the discipline on complex design issues, ensures safety integrity and advises HOD on technical upgrading and implementation.
Required qualifications
  • MUST BE EXPERT ON RUSSIAN DESIGN NORMS AND ENGINEERING STANDARDS
  • A university degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 20 years of related petrochemical experience preferable from a background in working for consultancy or EPC organisations or the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Knowledge of British Standards is an advantage
  • Fluency in Russian and English
