My client is one of the fastest growing Banks in Qatar. They are currently looking to recruit a Risk Infrastructure & Governance Executive who will be responsible for setting up an effective Risk Governance within the Bank by identifying and controlling critical risks affecting the business strategy. Position is based in Doha, Qatar Key responsibilities:

Manage fundamental prudential risks of the bank
Continuously rate, assess and highlight the high risk sectors, industries and customer segments and take adequate mitigating actions to reduce, diversify, shift these risks
Conducts risk asset review to assess the capital adequacy of the Bank in line with regulatory guidelines.
Review and propose necessary changes to the existing portfolio management techniques, procedures and reporting methods
Establish and continually monitor a portfolio limits structure
Draft a liquidity policy document. Review and update periodically this policy document taking into consideration changes in the operating environment and regulatory framework
Develop market risk measurement processes appropriate to the needs of the bank
Prepare interest rate risk reports and where necessary, recommend modification of the interest rate profile
Develop models to undertake independent monitoring and reporting of liquidity position
Define system functionality specifications to support the enhancement of the overall market risk and ALM systems

Ideal candidate’s profile:

Bachelor’s degree in Banking, or related subjects. Master/ MBA preferred
Minimum 10 years experience in financial services institution, with a specialization in Risk management
High Managerial exposure
Excellent knowledge of Risk management best practices and International regulations
Superior analytical, modelling and research abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (mandatory) and Arabic (preferred)
