Our client, a leading EPCI company have a requirement for an experienced Pipeline Engineer to work on the design of major subsea field architecture in Dubai.
The job description is as follows:
- Working within the pipeline design team on onshore feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design and EPC / EPCM projects.
- Overall responsibility for the scheduling and monitoring the quality of the work procedure
- Mentor and Coach young pipeline engineers, provide advice to peers
- Develop the pipeline design basis
- Prepare pipeline material, coating, testing and installation specifications
- Prepare pipeline material requisition, perform technical bid evaluation / analysis and vendor data review
- Perform following pipelines design activities:
- Mechanical calculations line pipes and bend material grade and wall thickness. Buckling check, spanning VIV and expansion calculations.
- Pipeline on-bottom stability analysis and bottom roughness analysis
- Riser tie-in and expansion spool stress analysis
- Pipeline crossing analysis and design of crossing supports
- External corrosion protection design
- Pipeline route selection, trenching / back filling design
- Pipeline global buckling analysis
- Subsea structure analysis and design
- Provide material take off and bill of material
- Degree level qualification in Mechanical / Marine / Civil & Structural Engineering Discipline
- 10 years experience in pipeline engineering design Oil and Gas
- Competent user of pipeline engineering AGA, CAESAR & MATHCAD. Experience in ABAQUS, ORCAFLEX, Sage Profile, Flexible pipes and Umbilical is advantageous
- Strong leadership and communication skills are essential
- The ability to lead and function as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to maintain clear understanding of design issues, progress and objectives is required
