Shell||s Upstream International Middle East Region looks after assets in the Middle East and North Africa, with key existing operations in Oman, Abu Dhabi, Egypt, Iran, Oman, Pakistan, Iraq and Syria. We are currently exploring further opportunities in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and are also represented in Kuwait, Tunisia, and Algeria. The businesses of the region represent a mix of (1) mature assets in countries like Oman, Syria and Egypt with robust cash generation and a key focus on Operational Excellence and Competitive Costs, as well as (2) an unprecedented number of growth opportunities in Iraq, Enhanced Oil Recovery in Oman, as well as significant exploration potential. The region is characterized by both its wide geographical/cultural spread and the complexity of the business relationships with host Governments and JV partners. With the exception of some of the exploration projects and Iraq Majnoon, none of the Shell||s business in the region is "Shell-operated|||| in a conventional sense. Within Shell, the region provides one of the best opportunities to achieve growth, and on an unprecedented scale. Business dimensions reflect activities in some 15 countries, with over 30 major fiscal contracts in place, currently delivering some 400 kboe/d upstream production in the mature assets, while incurring a total expenditure of some USD 4 bln on the various growth opportunities (all figures excluding Iraq projects). We||re currently recruiting a Technical Delivery Manager-Hydrocarbon Maturation. Responsibilities: As the Technical Delivery Manager Hydrocarbon Maturation, your primary objective is to enable the Regional Reserves Focal Points and Technical Managers to deliver a robust and transparent Regional resource volume portfolio, which adheres to global standards. In addition, you are responsible to support the regional resource volume managers in delivering new resource volume initiatives, and to manage the execution of the Integrated Resource Control Framework. You achieve these goals by:
  • Collating and analysing the maturation of all Hydrocarbon volumes across the region and tracking progress compared with targets,
  • Perform analysis on UIM portfolio and provide management reporting/briefings of reserves and flux volumes across the region,
  • Provide advice and share HCM •best practices• with Reservoir Engineers across the region,
  • Provide reservoir engineering support and management summaries for the annual year-end report of all resource volumes (Annual Report of Petroleum Resources ),
  • Embed across UIM the new Integrated Control Framework for Proved, dSFR and Expectation Resource Volumes,
  • Being accountable as the Risk Coordinator for Resource Volume Management (including Flux) across the region, and
  • Provide additional support for Resource Volume initiatives such as HRVMS (Hydrocarbon Resource Volume Management System) and the new resource classification system PRCS (Petroleum Resources Classification System)
Requirements: You must have at least a Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering, Earth Sciences, Petroleum Economics or related field. Ideally, you have significant experience working with production forecasts; have working knowledge of Petroleum Engineering activities and Petroleum Economics. Previous working experience in assurance processes would be beneficial. You must also be comfortable with working with large, often non-standardised datasets and have the ability to quickly come-up-to-speed with rapidly expanding portfolio of IT tools. Candidates with awareness of Shell•s exploration and production business (e.g. Greenfield/brownfield; oil/gas/other; Tax Royalty Regimes/PSC•s/novel contracts) will be preferred. In addition, you must have proven experience in instilling a •compliance• mindset across business functions, while continually pursuing efficiencies (e.g. minimum reporting requirements • without missing any fundamentals).
