Our client, International telecommunications contractor based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is currently seeking to recruit Transport Team leader. This position is directly reporting to the Transport Manager PRIMARY OBJECTIVES & FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for the daily operation of the Transport Department, as directed by the Transport Manager;
  • Responsible for the daily supervision of Transport Department staff, as directed by the Transport Manager;
  • To supervise Transport staff in the maintenance and driving/support services of the company vehicle fleet, assistance in vehicle procurement and to provide assistance with the police over traffic accidents/incidents;
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To organise and supervise the daily tasks of the drivers, involved in transportation, purchasing of spare parts and government office work;
  • To plan a schedule of work for the vehicle repairs, supervise the vehicle mechanics and monitor the quality of work;
  • To supervise the schedule for vehicle planned servicing, ensuring that "off the road time" is minimized;
  • To respond to transport requests;
  • To check the quality of repair work completed by outside sub-contractors;
  • To arrange the purchase of spare parts and be responsible for the control of parts held by Transport Department;
  • To check validity of invoices from outside workshops, suppliers and employee claims for petrol reimbursement;
  • To maintain a comprehensive computerised database on all fleet vehicles, providing Monthly and ad hoc reporting information as directed by the Transport Manager;
  • To manage and maintain an up to date manual record associated to the company‚Äôs fleet;
  • To maintain daily staff time sheets for the Department;
  • To attend Road Traffic accidents as required;
  • To maintain the vehicle accident float file, to assist with the conclusion of insurance claims;
  • To carry out Transport security briefs to all new starters;
  • To maintain a clean and tidy environment in the transport office;
Knowledge & Experience ESSENTIAL
  • Educated to secondary education level, with suitable qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Full Apprenticeship with a recognized Main Dealer.
  • At least 5 years experience in the motor trade, of which at least 2 years spent in a supervisory role;
  • Must possess good organising and leadership skills and a commitment to high standards. Fluent spoken/written English/Arabic essential;
  • Must possess a driving license;
  • Basic computer literacy including working skills in MS office applications;
DESIRABLE
  • Experience of living or working in the Middle East.
